If you are a victim of crime, Victim Service Workers can provide emotional support, practical assistance; such as going with you to talk to the police or crown counsel, information about the criminal justice system and the court process. They can also advise you on the status of your case. If you are nervous about going to court they can orientate you and accompany you on the day of your appearance. They can also provide referrals to appropriate community agencies and services. Police Based Victim Service workers also attend at accident scenes to support victims and their families.

In Powell River, the Police Based Victim Service program is situated within the RCMP detachment at 7070 Barnet Street.
