The Stopping the Violence Outreach Program is based at the main office, but as the name suggests they spend a large part of their time in the community supporting women to find housing, make and attend appointments, job search and some family court appearances. S.T.V.O is responsible for the posters and pamphlets you see in doctor’s offices or pub washrooms, all geared towards public awareness. We work closely with the staff at the transition house to ensure a woman knows about community programs and supports her to find her way after leaving her abusive situation if she chooses not to stay at Grace House. We are a free and confidential service like all our agency partners, and sometimes the first person you meet when you drop in seeking help.
The agency has a new STVO as of September, Annette was born and raised in Powell River and after raising her family and travelling all over the world she chose to come home. Annette is available to help women with all the above mentioned services from Tuesdays to Thursdays.
To make an appointment, phone 604-485-6980 and please leave a message if there is no answer. She will get back to you as soon as possible.
